1. Instruction for volunteer hours submission

Please record your volunteer hours daily in details. For example, on the date of XX, you have contributed XX hours (from XX AM to XX PM) for class preparation, XX hours (from XX PM to XX PM) for teaching, and etc.

Your volunteer hours will be reviewed and approved by a Share & Grow officer in charge of the specific program/activity you participated as a volunteer.

Your volunteer work with Share & Grow is eligible for receiving presidential recognition!

The President's Volunteer Service Award is a civil award bestowed by the President of the United States. This award was established by executive order to honor volunteers that give hundreds of hours per year helping others. Along with the ultimate honor of presidential recognition, recipients will receive a personalized certificate, an official pin, a medallion or coin, and/or a congratulatory letter from the president of the United States. It is a tremendous honor and delivers a powerful message that encourages others to take action.

Criteria:
- Recipient(s) must be a United States citizen or a lawfully admitted permanent resident of the United States.
- Awards are issued for service hours served within a 12-month time period. For Share & Grow, it is September 1 the previous year to August 31 this year.
- Awards are issued for volunteer service only; additional levels of participation with the organization (i.e., charitable support) are not a factor considered for the award.
- Court-ordered community service does not qualify for the award.

The awards are offered in multiple levels and are designed to recognize each milestone of your service achievement. Levels include bronze, silver, gold and the highest honor, the President’s Lifetime Achievement Award.

For Share & Grow, the annual accounting period for the award is from September 1 the previous year to August 31 this year. After September 1, Share & Grow will start the award process. So please remember to submit your volunteer hours before September 1.

If you have volunteered at other non-profit organizations and would like to add your volunteer hours from those other organizations when Share & Grow counts your hours for the President's Volunteer Service Award, please email sharegrow.org@gmail.com a signed letter from an officer of the other organization before September 15. For accounting purposes, this letter needs to provide the detailed records of your volunteer hours with the other organization, same as what you would submit to Share & Grow. And please note that Share & Grow will only count the number of hours up to what you have contributed at Share & Grow. If you would like Share & Grow to provide a letter certifying the number of volunteer hours you contributed to Share & Grow activities during a period of time to your school or another organization, please send email to sharegrow.org@gmail.com.
